Our beloved golden retriever decided to go wandering off many years ago when our daughter was about seven. Of course, she, my husband and I were heartbroken. Luckily for us, a lovely family took him in, fed him well, and responded to one of the flyers we had circulated. I know the feeling of gratitude for the kindness of strangers.
