Being a “Super Recruiter” Could Kill Your Business
What? Is she crazy?
Maybe, but not on this subject.
I think the answer to my question in the title is a resounding YES.
You can recruit to the borderline of SPAM and beyondn and completely ruin what you’ve spent time building up -
YOUR NAME and your reputation.
And if all people ever hear from you is “join this” ”don’t miss out on [goo-roo of the week's] launch”
Your name and your reputation will quickly go into your reader’s memory bank with a big mental stickie attached that says “DO NOT FOLLOW.”
Just look at Twitter. Somedays I really prefer not to. I have over 12,000 followers and most just SPAM me to exhaustion.
And I wouldn’t recommend those voice telephone blasting programs either – you know the ones that call a few thousand numbers with the same pre-recorded message. Now that my phone number is “out there.” I get about 3 or 4 a day — and just hang up!
BUT, we all know we need folks to join us in our businesses if we are ever to make any money. SO where is the happy middle? You can’t spend all day playing on Facebook,
never mentioning your business – especially if you’re wasting time on FARMVILLE! The happy middle is GIVING more than you receive, putting out content that can help others,
fully participating in your mastermind group (you have to have a mastermind group, and you know I’m crazy about Simple Freedom. Train, give away free e-books, help others who ask for it….that’s the basis of it all. BUT, you can’t hide behind your giving and never let people know what you are working on.
Your efforts should be designed to get people to your blog where you GIVE even more, but on your blog, you should let people see what opportunities you represent and the value of working with you. How they too can earn a substantial income from the opportunities you represent.
Yes, you can lead people to your business without spamming them and that teaches them how to duplicate your efforts. Your company should help by providing quality overview calls and training, so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
BE everywhere, GIVE everywhere, but don’t forget you aren’t just surfing the net, you are running a business! Then be there for the team of people who join you, helping them out however you can. How many of you ever joined a program promising great teams and sponsorship, only to see them disappear in a cloud of smoke once they got your money?
Or worse, agree to train you but only if you pay them a couple hundred dollars a month to join their private coaching club? That one makes me STEAM!
Your name is on the line, and once you’ve lost your good name it’s almost impossible to get it back. SO GIVE, but don’t be afraid to market.
