Hello Mary Anne and thank you for this post, I agree with you 100%! Its is not just about time freedom, some people have that and are still prisoners in their own space, but it is the ability to merge time freedom with wealth (A.K.A. Money). Some people have money and don't have time freedom, which is sad but also true.

The art of merging them both is called lifestyle, and only then is when we are catching what life has to offer us!

P.S. And you are right about Colonel Sanders (Founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken) was on social security driving his old car from town to town selling his secret recipes, now you can't drive through a town in America without see one of his restaurant!

Mary Anne: Funny how certain bits come to us on the 'net at just the "right time." I'm blessed to have read your post & while it speaks of your dad's integrity & the legacy he left, it speaks even more to the idea of how he instilled that set of principles in you, his daughter ... & how you are determined to share this with others. Thanks for sharing with me. ; >

Blessings.

You are fortunate to have had a father who lived by example the value of life and of hard work. I was so blessed as well. It sickens me to read all the "vulture" success posts on social media sites. Everyone is out for themselves it seems. There's no better way to live life than by investin in the lives of others. Your dad did just that, and so are you!

I love a post that reminds me of what is so important in life. Your father sounds like he was a wonderful man with all his priorities in the right place. I agree with you a life of integrity and love is a life worth living. Those left behind behind benefit far more from that kind of legacy than any material things that can often create discord.

God bless your Dad :)

Thanks, Pat. I did nothing to "get" him, I was simply blessed. So happy for you that your dad is still with you. Enjoy every moment. And yes, I know, my dad is still here with me and always will be.

Mary Anne, congratulations on having such a wonderful father. My father is much the same way and I admire him tremendously. Thankfully, I still have him here--he is 86 next month and in good mental and physical health.

Your father, I am sure, is still around you and is very proud of you.

Great analogy, often I've heard of crabs pulling each other down into the bucket so none escape. You are there cheering, helping. Now if just more of the crabs would help each other get out, make a break at the same time, there'd be no containing them.

This is simply powerful. I can easily see a book, keynote and workshop series for empowerment. The truth is, from my perspective, is that when we are in the 80% range we are only hoping and wishing to gain what the 20% gain in business, multi-level marketing, aales, etc.
So, I would love for your to address the role of the coach and mentor for that crab that is trying to make it.
Up. up. up
What motivates the crab? Would love to hear a part 2 for this post or a series

I agree with you 100% Mary Anne.

I havn't had a job since before college, I have always worked for myself. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I believe most people are "taken care" of with a job and when it disappears they lack the skills to be independent.

I like this post and the way you right,

Thanks for sharing.

Interesting post! Sometimes getting thrown out of the bucket, as Bev mentioned, is the only way we ever try to grow. I heard a speaker one time say that comfortable is the worst place to be in life--it drains us of all drive.
