When looking for a mentor or someone to join in business, your most important consideration should be “do I know, like and trust” this individual; are they someone of integrity and experience who can guide me through the ups and downs of home business. Will that person be there for me and build a business partnership with me?
It is not the company or the compensation plan you are joining that determines your ultimate success or failure – it is whom you associate with and the training and marketing backup they offer. You can join the best opportunity in the world, but if you are new and floundering – you won’t get anywhere. It is so important to research not only the company – but the person who will be your mentor.
Perhaps not as important, but something to consider is your potential mentor’s business philosophy. Some marketers want to do everything online; others use a combination of online and offline techniques to build a list of qualified people who may be interested in doing business. There is debate over whether one should stick like glue to one company come hell or high water, or diversify and have multiple streams of income.
I firmly believe in developing multiple streams of income – not all at once, of course, especially if you are new. You would lose focus and be lost in the information jungle. Yet, over time developing income streams from multiple companies protects you in the event one of your companies goes under – which has and does happen, even to those seemingly invincible icons.
Another reason why I like multiple streams of income and multiple opportunities is that it allows a person to start where they are. A good mentor is a solutions provider, someone who will guide you to earning the kind of income you are seeking and need in these difficult times. But people start from all levels. While the basics of marketing are the same whether you are offering a hot dog or a Mercedes, the costs and learning curves differ greatly.
That is why I offer several different programs of varying complexity and cost. I focus mainly on TRAVEL because it is thriving in the recession (Priceline’s 2009 3rd quarter profits were up 32+% from last year! Every minute, $14.1 Million is spent booking travel online. Now I do NOT book other’s travel – I introduce them to discount memberships with business opportunities attached so they can earn extra or replacement income.
I try to meet people exactly where they are at, find out what they are really looking for, how much time and money they have to invest in joining me. It is not fair that people sign folks up for programs, abandon them and the new member loses hope within a few weeks. That is not what I or the teammates I’ve associated with in any company would do.
Another important aspect of choice revolves around the economy….I researched long and hard to find opportunities that could and are withstanding (and even thriving) in these tough economic times. I have nothing against vitamins or potions, but in this economy people are really cutting back and looking for opportunities that will pay BIG money………..that’s why I chose these opportunities because they do exactly that!
I am a Baby Boomer and the economy has changed the plans of retirement for many Boomers who are looking online for a way to supplement or replace their income, and a way to keep working even when they grow older and their health may not be as good as it is right now. This is a time of incredible opportunity for the Boomers to build fortunes and exciting retirements.
I am also passionate about bringing the world of online marketing to the disabled and homebound. Having received a diagnosis of a potentially life-altering illness, I now look at the world differently and plan ahead “just in case.” The upside is it really opened my eyes to the plight of many who are too disabled and unable to leave their homes to work a “normal” job. There is no reason why they cannot be successful online and earn the income they need and deserve and I would like to help them make that happen. It’s the upside of my diagnosis.
And, this business is really all about teamwork and helping others. If you don’t help others, your own success will be short lived. So will your satisfaction with your life. All I knew growing up was that I wanted to help others, and despite the stereotypes so many throw at lawyers, for a long time that is exactly what I was able to do. The great majority of lawyers, I found, were selfless in their attempts to help those who needed their assistance. At least the ones I associated with did — or else I didn’t hang around with them!
Please call or e-mail me, even if you just want to ask a question about online business – you don’t have to join me in my opportunities to give me a call. I’d like to get to know you and help you any way I can. That’s what it’s all about!
I hope to hear from you…………Call me at 203-439-1055 or e-mail me at info@maryannenagy.com and I’ll get back to you as fast as I can!
I wish you great success and happiness in all you do.
